Editorial: Acordis Industrial Fibers Businesses Prepare for New Ownership |
published in Issue 46, 3rd quarter 2001
|
Only two years ago, Acordis was hailed by its new majority owner, CVC Capital Partners, as “the world’s biggest dedicated fibres company”. Moreover, both Acordis and its new owner were announcing upbeat predictions about “strengthening Acordis’s market position through acquisitions”1.
But by 2001 the vision had changed. Acordis’s strategy over the last year has been characterised more by disposals than by acquisitions. Moreover, no acquisitions now appear to be in prospect.
