This report includes statistical data, insight and analysis of global mill consumption of textile fibres as well as man-made fibre production and trade over the period 2010-15. The report covers Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, North America, Oceania, South America and Western Europe. It includes statistical data and analysis of global trends in consumption of natural fibres and man-made fibres by the world's textile mills. In addition to the overall statistics, the data are broken down to provide information on cotton fibres, wool fibres, synthetic fibres and cellulosic fibres. Consumption of textile fibres by the world's mills increased to a record high in 2015, following increases in each of the four previous years. The increase in 2015 was due primarily to a rise in consumption of man-made fibres. Consumption of cotton fibres and wool fibres also increased, but at a slower pace. Geographically, there were increases in mill consumption of textile fibres in several regions but Asia remained by far the largest regional consumer.
