Elsewhere, textile and clothing exports from Turkey rose in 2021 and during January-September 2022. Also, Turkish textile and clothing production increased in 2021--although textile production inched down during January-September 2022. In Morocco, textile and clothing exports were up in 2021--reflecting increases in exports to almost all of Morocco's major markets. In 2022 there was strong growth in Moroccan clothing exports to the EU in the first half of the year and there was also strong growth in Moroccan clothing exports to the USA in the first nine months of the year. Moroccan textile and clothing production, meanwhile, was down in the first quarter of 2022 but it was up sharply in the second quarter of 2022.
