This latest report in our flagship series contains statistical data, information and insight into the textile and apparel industries in Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey. The report presents a wealth of information, and is essential for anyone who is considering sourcing from, selling to or investing in these countries or their export markets. In particular, the report includes detailed information on domestic production and on exports of textiles and clothing by type and destination. Textile and clothing exports from Egypt shot up in 2021. This represented a recovery after exports had declined in 2020 as a consequence of the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. There were increases in exports to most of Egypt's major markets in 2021. There were also increases in Egyptian exports to the EU in the first half of 2022 and to the USA in the first nine months of 2022. Elsewhere, textile and clothing exports from Turkey rose in 2021 and during January-September 2022. Also, Turkish textile and clothing production increased in 2021--although textile production inched down during January-September 2022. In Morocco, textile and clothing exports were up in 2021--reflecting increases in exports to almost all of Morocco's major markets. In 2022 there was strong growth in Moroccan clothing exports to the EU in the first half of the year and there was also strong growth in Moroccan clothing exports to the USA in the first nine months of the year. Moroccan textile and clothing production, meanwhile, was down in the first quarter of 2022 but it was up sharply in the second quarter of 2022.
