2014 was a mixed year for the international textile yarn machinery market. Shipments of short staple spindles and double heater false-twist spindles fell to their lowest levels since 2009. By contrast, there were sharp increases in shipments of long staple spindles and single heater false-twist spindles. Shipments of open-end rotors also rose and were above their annual average over the ten years to 2014. Shipments of yarn manufacturing machinery were adversely affected by declines in shipments to the textile industry in China. However, there were increases in shipments of some machinery to the textile industries in several other countries, including the Philippines, Turkey, the USA and Vietnam. This 44-page report analyses trends in the international textile yarn machinery market, and includes a statistical appendix containing detailed information about installed capacities and shipments of spinning machines - by type, region and selected country.
