This 2015 update provides indispensable insight for any textile and clothing company supplying goods to international markets in general, as well as to the EU region, and for strategists looking to undertake competitor analysis. In this report, Textiles Intelligence reveals trends in EU textile and clothing imports and prices of textile and clothing imports as a whole and of imports in 15 major product categories namely cotton yarn, fabrics woven from synthetic staple fibres, fabrics woven from synthetic filament yarn, T-shirts, pullovers, women's blouses, men's shirts, women's overcoats, women's dresses, women's skirts, women's suits, men's trousers, men's denim trousers, women's trousers and women's denim trousers. The report also includes an appendix containing information and data on exchange rates. The report notes that EU textile and clothing imports rose in value and in volume in 2014 to record highs. At the same time, there was a fall in their average price. During the first four months of 2015, however, there was a jump in the average import price compared with the corresponding period of the previous year, resulting from a sharp depreciation in the value of the euro against the US dollar, and imports were down in volume terms.
