This latest edition of our flagship series of reports contains statistical data, information and insight into the textile and apparel industries in China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. The report identifies important trends, and includes information on: production of textiles and clothing; textile and clothing imports by supplying country; textile and clothing exports by destination country; and textile and clothing trade balances. It also analyses trade and production activities in each of these countries and provides an outlook for the future. This report presents a wealth of information and is essential for anyone who is considering sourcing from, selling to or investing in China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan and their export markets. In China, exports and production of textiles and clothing continued to grow in 2013 and January-July 2014. Exports from South Korea were up in 2013 and January-July 2014. However, production in 2013 fell. In Japan, exports increased to a five-year high in 2013 but, as in South Korea, production fell during the year. In Taiwan, exports declined in 2013 and also fell during January-June 2014. However, production in 2013 was higher. In Hong Kong, domestic exports and re-exports declined in 2013 and also during January-July 2014. Production during 2013 was down too.
