2011 was a good year for the textile yarn machinery market. Double digit growth was recorded in deliveries of short staple spindles, long staple spindles, open-end rotors and double heater false-twist draw texturing machinery. However, deliveries of single heater false-twist draw texturing machinery plunged. There were sharp increases in deliveries to the textile industries in several individual countries. Turkey was the biggest market for long staple spindles for the second year in succession, and there was a significant increase in shipments of short staple spindles, open-end rotors and double heater false-twist spindles to textile mills in China. Furthermore, substantial increases were recorded in deliveries of these three types of machinery to the industries in Indonesia and Uzbekistan. This report examines general trends and provides analyses of international textile yarn machinery markets. It also includes a statistical appendix which provides data on installed capacities and shipments of spinning machines -- by type, region and selected country.
