This report examines general trends and provides analyses of the international fabric machinery market. 2010 was a good year as shipments of weaving machinery, circular knitting machinery and flat knitting machinery all increased as the market recovered from the global recession. In weaving, shipments of shuttleless looms shot up to a record high. And in knitting, shipments of single jersey circular knitting machinery and electronic flatbed machinery both reached record highs. In fact, shipments of electronic flatbed machinery surpassed shipments of hand knitting and semi-automatic flat knitting machines for the first time, reflecting demand for increased automation in Asia.
