This latest edition of our flagship series of reports contains statistical data, information and insight into the textile and apparel industries in the USA, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico. The report presents a wealth of information on: exports by destination; imports; and production. Also, it includes information on consumer expenditure and the retail market in the USA, and retail sales in Argentina. In the USA, imports of textiles and clothing were up in terms of value and volume in 2015. However, textile production and clothing production declined, and exports of textiles and clothing fell in value terms for the first time in six years. Meanwhile, imports of textiles and clothing in Argentina were up for the first time in four years, but textile production was down and exports of textiles and clothing declined sharply. In Brazil, textile and clothing production declined, as did textile and clothing imports and exports. In Colombia, exports of textiles and clothing fell for the third consecutive year, but there were increases in textile production and clothing production. In Mexico, textile and clothing exports fell, while textile and clothing imports rose. However, textile production and clothing production in Mexico increased.
