World textile and apparel trade and production trends: China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, December 2015

The report identifies important trends, and includes information on: production of textiles and clothing; textile and clothing imports by supplying country; and textile and clothing exports by destination country. In China, exports grew in 2014 but they were down during January-April 2015. Production, meanwhile grew in 2014 and during January-September 2015. In Hong Kong, exports were down in 2014 and during January-September 2015, and production was also down in 2014 and during the first half of 2015. In Japan, exports rose in 2014 to reach a six-year high in yen terms, although in US dollar terms exports declined. Furthermore, Japanese imports rose while production fell. In South Korea, exports fell in 2014 and during January-September 2015, and exports from Taiwan were down in 2014 and during January-August 2015.
