The first edition of OutDoor by ISPO—a trade fair for outdoor apparel, accessories and equipment—took place during June 30-July 3, 2019, in Munich, Germany. OutDoor by ISPO is the successor to OutDoor, which was held annually in Friedrichshafen, Germany, from 1994 to 2018. The mood at the fair was positive overall, and this was reflected in an increase in the numbers of visitors and exhibitors who attended the event compared with editions of OutDoor. The report identifies the latest trends and product developments in outdoor apparel and accessories which were presented at OutDoor by ISPO, including environmental sustainability, wearable technology and technically advanced apparel for urban outdoor living. The trends and developments were reflected in the product innovations which won Outstanding Product awards at the fair. Four products were selected to receive awards for "exceptionally outstanding products", namely the Tente FutureLight Jacket from the North Face, the Fly climbing harness from Petzl, the Redmont 1L Jacket from Vaude and the MyShelter Parley Jacket from Adidas. The report also assesses the size and growth of the European outdoor market, including sales growth in value and volume terms by product category.
